Join us to learn about the latest features, enhancements, and capabilities available in version 9.8 of ITASCA Software.

Version 9.8 brings the official release of MPoint, the first commercial Material Point Method software purpose-built for geotechnical engineering. The Material Point Method (MPM) is designed for modeling extreme deformation problems such as tailings dams, embankments, landslides, material handling systems, and other large-strain geomechanical processes. The latest capabilities include fluid pore-pressure generation, wall coupling, Rayleigh damping, Python support, and expanded 2D and 3D examples.

Updates across products include:

  • Enhanced Python capabilities, including table creation and expanded array functionality.
  • New Dynamic Damping Rapid Tool for determining optimal Maxwell and Rayleigh damping parameters.
  • Sketch productivity improvements, including new clean-up tools, object ID display, and revamped Tunnel and Slope Wizards with live previews.
  • New Modal Analysis functionality in FLAC2D and FLAC3D for calculating natural vibration modes.
  • New FLAC3D cut-plane export tools for creating Sketch geometries, grid files, and DXF exports.
  • Automatic remeshing enhancements and improved mesh import/export functionality.
  • New examples across FLAC2D, MPoint, and PFC.
  • Official release of XSite v9.8.
  • Official release of MPoint v9.8.

Version 9.8 is available to users with an active Version 9 subscription or maintenance license for FLAC3D, FLAC2D, 3DEC, PFC3D, PFC2D, MassFlow, and XSite.
