LIVE Training: Getting Started with Dynamic Modeling in FLAC3D
Date: June 9 – 10, 2026 (two half-days)
Location: Online
Time: 2:00 – 5:30pm CET (Paris) / 7:00 – 10:30am (Chicago)
Dynamic Modeling in FLAC3D
This live online course is designed for engineers already experienced in numerical modeling who are looking to gain expertise in performing dynamic analysis in FLAC3D to simulate seismic events and vibrations. Topics include wave propagation, boundary and internal conditions, constitutive models, and different types of damping.
This training is anchored in real‑world case studies drawn from ITASCA’s consulting work. You’ll see how experienced engineers apply key concepts in practice, gain insight into their decision‑making, and learn techniques you can put to use immediately. You’ll benefit from peer‑to‑peer exchange, collaborative discussion, and instructor insights that bridge theory with field‑tested experience — the kind of knowledge you simply won’t find in manuals.
You’ll work hands‑on with practical scenarios, guided PowerPoint modules, open group discussion, and essential theoretical concepts that reinforce your understanding of geomechanics and numerical modeling. The course concludes with a short assessment validating your mastery of the key concepts.
